Travel trends in Bali always lure tourists to new frontiers, to fresher, less crowded destinations where it’s easy to connect with nature, culture, and the Balinese community.
Some of Bali’s classic tourist destinations are considered unmissable for good reason. There are seven classic destinations in Bali that all tourists should visit before they start chasing new horizons.

As curated by BaliPost, there are seven unmissable travel destinations in Bali in 2025. Each destination is iconic in its own way, and though first-time tourists are always eager to rush off the beaten path to discover the next hottest destination, there is something reliable and outright essential about these seven bucket list destinations.
From Nusa Penida to Kuta Beach, any self-professed Bali lover should spend time in each of these tourism hotspots before they say they truly know the island.
The first bucket list destination recommended by BaliPost is Nusa Penida, and we agree. Nusa Penida is an absolute must-visit in 2025. From Diamond Beach to Kelkingking Beach to Manta Bay, there is so much to explore in Nusa Penida. One of the biggest errors tourists make when planning a trip to Bali is not leaving enough time to explore Nusa Penida to the fullest.
Our top recommendation for planning a trip to the outlying islands of Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan is to spend at least one night on each or spend three to four nights in one spot and hop between the islands.
While it’s possible to enjoy a whistlestop day trip from Sanur to Nusa Penida, it always feels way too rushed, and with so much beauty to take in from the clifftops and shorelines of the Nusa Islands, everyone always regrets not booking a more extended stay…so…you’ve been warned!
Leaders have also recently confirmed that access to some of Nusa Penida’s most famous viewpoints is about to become easier and safer.
A new access road will be constructed between Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong, meaning tourists will be able to walk between the two world-famous viewpoints or hop back in their vehicles if they have hired a private driver. The road will be 1km long and will be completed in 2026.
Next up on the unmissable list is Penglipuran Village. This multi-award winning traditional Balinese village is super popular with domestic tourists and international visitors need to make sure they put a visit to this iconic community on their itineraries.
Located in Bangli Regency a day trip to learn about the local culture of Penglipuran Village and its ancient bamboo forest couples perfect with an afternoon spent exploring the nearby waterfalls; Goa Raja Waterfall is particularly beautiful.

Uluwatu Temple was noted as another unmissable cultural tourist attraction in 2025. For tourists unfamiliar with the temple by name, you surely know it from picture postcards. Uluwatu Temple is the home of the incredible sunset kecak performance.
Every night, cultural dancers perform the fiery kecak to a packed amphitheater of visitors. With the sunset providing the perfect backdrop, the experience is nothing short of magical.

Kuta Beach, Jimbaran Beach, and Sanur Beach are listed among Bali’s classic and unmissable beach vacation destinations in 2025. These three beaches are Bali’s oldest beach resorts, but over the last fifty years, they have undergone transformation after transformation.
Kuta Beach remains one of the best places in the world for rookies to learn to surf, Jimbaran is still the best place to sample traditional Balinese seafood all these years on, and Sanur is embarking on a new chapter as a world-class medical tourism destination. Add these three to your list!

BaliPost highlights Pura Luhur Lempuyang Temple as the final unmissable destination of 2025. Better known to international visitors as the Gates of Heaven Temple, Pura Luhur Lempuyang Temple offers unrivalled views of Mount Agung and allows tourists to gain new perspectives and insights on Balinese culture while on vacation.
